David Drinon

Dave’s own approach to painting comprises a blend of academic training along with a strong influence from the “Cape Ann School” and the “Boston School of painters.”

Cape Ann influencers are contemporary painters Stapleton Kearns and David Curtis. Dave also studied with Boston School painters Thomas R Dunlay and Paul Ingbretson.

Dave studied studio painting at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester NH.

In 2015, Dave was selected to be the Artist–In–Residence at the Whistler House Museum of Art where he occupied the historic third-floor studio for over two years. In 2016 Dave was juried-in to the North Shore Art Association in Gloucester as an Artist Member. In 2017 Dave was accepted into the Copley Society of Art in Boston and in 2019 Dave was juried into the Rockport Art Association and Museum.

Dave’s works are owned by several individual collectors as well as many institutions such as the City of Lowell (Lowell City Hall); Boston Partners Financial Group in Andover, MA; Lahey Clinic in Burlington MA; Toast Vodka Beverage Corporation in Fort Lauderdale, FL; Lowell Community Health Center in Lowell, MA; Enterprise Bank in Lowell MA; and the MKtix Company in Lowell MA, among others.

Among the many locations Dave has exhibited are the Bristol Art Museum, Bristol Rhode Island; Massachusetts State House, Boston MA; Guild of Boston Painters, Boston MA: Whistler House Museum of Art, Lowell MA and the Andover Historical Society in Andover MA among others.

Currently Dave occupies a studio in Lowell MA.
