Sandy O’Connor | 2022 Artist in Residence Exhibit and Show

Sandy O’Connor is an American visual artist, currently living and working in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Since graduating from Rutgers University with a degree in Landscape Architecture, her career as a designer has evolved within the fields of illustration, advertising, publishing and marketing. Soon after the tragic events of 9/11 in New York City, she made a pivot into fine art after ten years as an art director and Director of Creative Services at Bloomberg, LP. O’Connor is best known for her watercolors and the exquisite realism she achieves. Her work has been shown in over 150 regional, national and international juried exhibitions. She's been published in notable art magazines and hardcover books. In 2019 she was awarded a prestigious Copley Society of Art Visual Artist Fellowship with a residency at the historic Fine Arts Work Center, Provincetown, Massachusetts. In 2020 she completed a series of eight large watercolors titled The Tipping Point: An Artist’s Perspective on Climate Change on the Outer Cape. In 2022 she was awarded a second Copley Society of Art Visual Artist Fellowship and residency in collaboration with the Charles Family Foundation and the Cape Ann Museum of Art in Gloucester, MA. The Residency was created by the Charles Family Foundation, in collaboration with the Cape Ann Museum and Boston’s Copley Society of Art, as a dedication to and promotion of the North Shore and Boston art communities.
